Hybrid clouds | Best network practices

Read this article to learn about specific best practices for hybrid clouds. This article supplements Best network practices, which covers Perfecto's lab requirements, best practices for the Perfecto UI, and how to optimize your Perfecto UI experience when accessing your cloud at <your_cloud>.app.perfectomobile.com.

Hybrid clouds use an infrastructure where the cloud manager is hosted at Perfecto while the handset servers and devices are hosted on premise with the customer. If you are unsure if you have a hybrid cloud, check with your project manager or ask your Perfecto Customer Success representative. Clouds with this setup place the responsibility for any networking and connectivity processes and policies on the customer.

Perfecto has no control over the security policies, firewall, or proxy rules of handset servers that are on premise in a hybrid cloud.

The requirements for hybrid clouds may change as newer architecture is developed for further support of hybrid clouds.

In general, consider the following in hybrid clouds:

  • Streaming Servers (STS) list: The streaming services may not be hosted by Perfecto. The streaming services may be hosted on premise with your handset servers and devices, which requires your local Infra/Security team to address any issues. For details, contact your cloud administrator.

  • Video streaming: You need to open access from the handset server (HSS) to a specific IP address on port 1945. To find out which IP address to use, work with Perfecto Support .
