Transfer a file

On an open device, you can:

  • Transfer files from the device memory or SD card to the Perfecto repository, or vice versa

  • Transfer files from the repository to the Pages application folder on devices running iOS (provided the Pages app is installed)

  • Download files from the device memory or SD card to the local computer

  • Upload files from a computer to the device memory or SD card

  • Delete files from the device memory or SD card, or from the repository

  • Search for files in the repository

  • Look up the locator of files in the repository

Restriction: Due to hardening restrictions, file transfer is not supported in the public cloud. For more information, see Hardening restrictions.
Important: File access works slightly differently on iOS devices, where each application has its own space, or sandbox, that other apps cannot access. Application developers can allow access to their sandbox from a computer, but this is not mandatory. As a result, not all applications are listed in the File Transfer dialog box, and not all folders listed in the dialog box may be accessed on the open device.

Transferring files to the Files app is not possible because Apple does not allow access to this sandbox from a Mac.
