The following table lists the action categories available for an element when you create a new step.

| User Action | Most common actions that mimic user behavior, such as clicks, mouse moves, text input, file upload, or selections from drop-down lists |
| Validations | Most common acceptance criteria, such as text validations, browser validations, or existence validations |
| System | General system actions such as running code in the browser or explicit waits |
| Variables | All actions related to defining and using variables in the test scenario |
| Conditions/Validations | All actions that can be used to check on a specific condition and act accordingly |
| Email Service | All actions related to receiving and acting upon emails: waiting for an email. opening an email in the browser, pushing the content of an email to context, and pushing the email count to context |
