Work on multiple tests simultaneously
With Scriptless Mobile, you can work on multiple tests simultaneously by opening multiple tabs. On the tabs, you can create and edit tests, run tests, and review test results.
In the test editor, one tab is always open by default. However, you can open additional tabs to work on a maximum of three tests at the same time.
When you open multiple tabs, all the functions related to the Commands and Embeddable Tests sidebar, the top toolbar, and the widget pane are available. These functions work similarly for tests on any tab.
To open a new tab, do one of the following:
-
In the test editor, click the add icon beside the open tab.
-
On the top toolbar, click the File icon and select New.
If you try to open a test available on one of the tabs, the system will redirect you to the test on the tab. After you open three tabs, the New and Open options under the File menu become unavailable.
-
In the test editor, click the close icon next to the test name.
-
On the top toolbar, click the File icon and select Open.
-
In the Open Test dialog box, expand the folders in the left pane.
-
Select a test from the list.
-
Click OPEN.
Restriction: You cannot edit a test owned by another user, but you can save the test under a new name and then edit it.
You can create a test by opening a tab and adding commands and checkpoints. For instructions, see Add commands.
A red dot beside the test name signifies an unsaved test.
You can use the Save or Save as option as per your requirement. For details, see Handle tests.
While saving a new test, if you select an existing name for the test, you will overwrite the existing test with the new one. The new test becomes available in the test editor and the old test is closed if it was open on another tab. You can hover over the name of the new test to display its location.
When you log in to Scriptless Mobile, the tabs opened in your previous session appear.
You can run a test on a selected mobile device.
-
In the test editor, open the tab of the test that you want to execute.
-
Click Run test.
Restriction: During the test execution, the Commands and Embeddable Tests sidebar and all top toolbar options (except the Stop test button) become unavailable. The opened device and the widget pane become unavailable if you select the opened device for test execution.
Test execution status is displayed at the top of the test. A loader icon beside the test name shows that the test execution is in progress. When the test execution is finished an icon appears beside the test name. The icon shows the test status:
-
Successful
-
Failure
-
Unknown status
-
Associated alerts
If you hover over the status, the tooltip shows the test results.
While a test executes, you can navigate to another tab and work on a different test.
For a test on another tab:
-
The Commands and Embeddable Tests pane and top toolbar options are available.
-
The opened device and widget pane are available only if a test is not running on the opened device.
-
The DataTable and Scheduler options are unavailable.
