Stop a test

On an open device, you can choose to ignore the current test or to end the session. This option also provides a link to the report in the Report Library.

To stop a test:

  1. Click the stop icon .
  2. In the End test dialog box, select how to end the test:
    • Discard test results: Select if you don't want to generate a report for this test.

In enterprise clouds, this option may not be available. To configure this option, contact Perfecto Support.

    • Mark Passed: Select if you consider the test a success. Then provide a name and, optionally, copy the link to the report.

    • Mark Failed: Select if the test didn't pass. Provide a name, (optional) enter a description of the failure, and (optional) assign a failure reason by clicking ADD FAILURE REASON and selecting a reason from the list.

Assigning a failure reason enhances reporting. Better reporting, in turn, influences the data available in Perfecto Insights and helps the triage process for failed tests.

Then copy the link to the report.

  3. If you want to clean up the mobile device before it is released, select Clean up device on release.

If devices are cleaned by default, this check box is not available.

  4. Select END AND RELEASE DEVICE (default). If you are not ready to release the device and only want to end the test, click END AND START NEW TEST.

The END AND START NEW TEST option keeps the device active for testing, starts a new recording for the next test, and keeps all results under one report. This also means, however, that the report for tests that have already completed will only become available when the device is eventually released (END AND RELEASE DEVICE option), plus a few seconds for processing the actual report.
