See what's new in Perfecto 22.4.

New mobile devices

Added support for the following new devices:

iOS

  • iPhone SE (2022)

  • iPad Air 5 (2022)

Android

  • Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, S8+, and S8 Ultra

Insights enhancements

The following enhancements to Perfecto Insights are now available:

  • Added a new blocked reason called Perfecto Connect Error. This failure reason is mapped to the category Lab.

  • To further enhance root cause analysis, mapped additional errors to the Device In Error blocked failure reason and the Element Not Found failure reason.

For a complete list of failure reasons and categories, see Manage failure reasons.

Logout option for clouds using SSO

Clouds configured with single sign-on (SSO) authentication now provide an option to log out of Perfecto, available from the username icon at the top right. Previously, this option was not available in clouds using SSO, and to sign out, it was necessary to close the browser window.

Perfecto Connect updates

Perfecto Connect now supports Mac web machines.

For comprehensive information, see our Perfecto Connect documentation.

Virtual device updates

Support for emulators running on Android 8 has been discontinued. For comprehensive support information, see Supported platforms.

iOS 15 support updates

Implemented a fix for an Apple limitation related to the Home button. The Home button is asynchronous, which would previously interfere with other actions performed right after the Home button was pressed. The workaround was to use a one-second sleep function. With the fix, this workaround is now obsolete.

For information on existing limitations, see iOS support updates.

Suspension of support policy for desktop web devices

Added information about Perfecto's suspension of support policy for desktop web devices to the Perfecto online help. Following are the guiding principles for moving a desktop OS version to a deprecated state:

  • macOS: Apple typically releases a new version once a year. When this happens, Perfecto adds support for the new version and discontinues support for the oldest version.

  • Windows: Microsoft typically releases a new major version once every few years. In general, Perfecto follows the Microsoft lifecycle policy. This means that whenever Microsoft announces end-of-life for an OS version, Perfecto ends its own support for the version.

For comprehensive information, see Suspension of support policy | Desktop web OS.

Resolved issues

Fixed an issue with the mobile:device:info function. When the property parameter was set to network, the function would sometimes return a null value instead of the name of the cellular network. With this fix, the function now returns the expected information.

Platform support

Support for the following new platform versions is now available in all clouds:

  • iOS 15.4.1, with the same limitations as prior iOS 15 releases

For a complete list of limitations, see iOS support updates.

Browser support

Support for the following new browser versions is now available:

  • Google Chrome 100 Stable and 101 Beta on Windows and Mac machines

  • Microsoft Edge 100 Stable on Windows machines

For a complete list of supported browsers, see Supported platforms.
