Release 22.6

See what's new in Perfecto 22.6.

Live Testing enhancements

  • When ending a manual testing session as Failed, you can now assign a failure reason to the test. Assigning a failure reason to a report enhances reporting, improves efficiency, and influences the failed test triage process and the data available in the Insights dashboard.

Previously, to assign a failure reason to a failed manual test, you had to navigate to the report library, find the report, and then assign a failure reason.

  • For enhanced usability, replaced the OPEN button in the list view of the Manual Testing view with a link on the device name. With this change, you can now quickly open a device by clicking the device name.

If your cloud requires that you reserve a device before you open it, the device link is disabled. Instead, you can click the calendar icon for the device you want to reserve.

Smart Reporting enhancements

  • The Report Library now includes a new column Trigger Type. This column provides information on how a test got executed. It shows values for Scriptless Web reports only. Trigger Type values can be:

    • Manual (tests initiated manually by the user)

    • Scheduled (jobs initiated by the scheduler)

    • CI/CD (jobs initiated by external CI/CD tools or the Scriptless command line interface)

With this feature, you can now:

    • Filter or group reports based on the trigger type. This functionality allows you to focus only on relevant tests, enhancing efficiency.

    • View trigger type information in the CSV file downloaded from the Report Library.

    • Retrieve trigger type information using the Smart Reporting Public API.

Note: This functionality is only available with a Scriptless Web license.
  • The single test report (STR) now supports grouped sequential steps or nested logical steps that occur in automation tests created with Scriptless Web. With this feature, you can expand a group name to display the related steps and expand a step to view the underlying commands. Each step in a Scriptless Web test corresponds to a single step in the STR, including commands or indented steps.

Click the following image for a side-by-side view of a set of steps in Scriptless Web (on the left) and the corresponding steps in the STR (on the right).

Note: This functionality is only available with a Scriptless Web license.

Scriptless Web enhancements

  • Scriptless Web now offers an option to create and execute tests on a virtual mobile web device in the Perfecto lab. While creating a new project, you can select a mobile web device option available with the desktop browser option. While updating an existing project, you can select an individual test and add a mobile device option with the Add platform button.

Note: Scriptless Web does not currently support the user action Choose file asset on iOS (Safari browser).
  • While creating a scheduler for a job, if you select the option At specific time for repeating the schedule, the time zone selected now gets converted to UTC. A pop-up window with the time conversion information appears when you select the time zone.

Insights enhancements

The Test failure history widget now displays dates based on the browser's time zone. Previously, dates were based on UTC (coordinated universal time). With this change, the widget is now aligned with the Insights dashboard and the Report Library.
