Release 26.10

October 11, 2026

Perfecto 26.10 expands AI-assisted testing with a unified AI Command, user-level access controls, and certificate selection for desktop web sessions in AI Scriptless, while adding Espresso support for Android Appium sessions and new controls for reservations and cookie consent. Quantum 3.2.8 and 3.2.9 address security vulnerabilities, and Appium 3.6.0 is available and rolling out gradually; it becomes the default on January 3, 2027.

AI Scriptless enhancements

In this release, AI Scriptless includes the following enhancements.

Unified AI test command

AI User Action and AI Validation are now combined into a single AI Command that handles both user actions and validation steps across AI Scriptless, Appium, and Selenium tests. With this enhancement, you can now build and maintain AI-driven tests with one consistent command interface while existing tests continue to run without modification.

To learn more, see Perform AI-powered test steps.

Manage AI access at the user level

Administrators can now control access to AI commands at the user level. If you do not see AI commands, contact your administrator to confirm your account has the AI User role.

Certificate selection for AI Scriptless web sessions

When opening a desktop web device in AI Scriptless, you can select previously uploaded certificates to install before the session starts. This lets you use certificates for selected desktop web sessions without enabling them across the cloud.

To learn more, see Open or close a device > To open a web browser device from within the AI Scriptless UI.

Automation testing enhancements

This release includes the following automation testing enhancement.

Espresso support for Android Appium sessions

You can run Espresso-based Android Appium tests on Perfecto and interact with views inside your app, including Android View Tags that UiAutomator2 cannot access.

To learn more, see Run Espresso tests with Appium.

Assets and setup enhancements

In this release, the Assets and setup view includes the following enhancement.

Hide the self-service device reservation

Administrators in select enterprise clouds can now hide the self-service reservation experience while keeping device reservations available through the API for automation use cases. Existing reservations continue to function, and automation workflows can still create reservations without exposing the self-service reservation workflow.

To learn more, see Reservation management.

Cookie consent

When you open Perfecto in a new browser, a cookie consent banner lets you choose which categories of cookies and tracking you allow.

To learn more, see Cookie consent settings.

Framework support

This release introduces the following test framework enhancements.

Quantum 3.2.8 and 3.2.9

Quantum 3.2.8 fixes an issue that converted single quotes in JSON file values to Unicode characters. Quantum 3.2.9 adds support for custom Cucumber JSON reports. Both fix security vulnerabilities identified in previous versions.

To learn more, see Quantum 3.2.8 release notes and Quantum 3.2.9 release notes.

Appium 3.6.0

Appium 3.6.0 is now available and is being rolled out gradually. It becomes the default version on January 3, 2027. To prepare, consider migrating your tests to Appium 3 now by setting the appiumVersion capability to 3.6.0. To learn more, see appiumVersion.

For the full list of supported versions, see Supported platforms

Owner privileges for Android devices

Perfecto no longer claims owner privileges on Android devices by default, except in public and trial clouds. If you use device passwords and need Perfecto to clean them up in another cloud, contact Perfecto Support to request that the privileges be enabled.

Deprecation and end-of-life notices

Review the following upgrade deadline and changes to supported platforms.

Deadline for Appium 1 extension

Customers with an Appium 1 extension must upgrade to a supported Appium version by January 3, 2027.

Removed support for iOS 16 simulators

The iOS 27.0 GA release introduced the latest Xcode 27 RC for virtual devices and ended support for iOS 16 simulators. Simulator devices that were only supported on iOS 16 are no longer available, including iPad (5th generation), iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (1st generation), iPad Pro (9.7-inch), iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus.

Testing workflows must use iOS 17 or later simulator versions.

For an updated list of devices and versions, see Supported simulator devices and OS versions.

Platform support | Real devices

This release introduces the following enhancements and updates to real device support.

New iOS versions

You can now test your applications on real devices running the following iOS versions:

  • iOS 27.2 Beta 3

  • iOS 27.0.1 GA and iOS 27.0 GA

  • iOS 26.7.1 GA and iOS 26.7 GA

  • iOS 18.7.10

A limitation that prevented Safari web tests from using driver.get() because Safari no longer exposed the Page.navigate command has been fixed. Support is now available with Appium 3, so the driver.executeScript("return window.location.href=\"URL\";"); workaround is no longer required.

For complete support information, see iOS support updates.

iPhone 18 devices

Perfecto now supports iPhone 18 devices. To request an iPhone 18 device for your cloud, contact Perfecto Support.

The following limitations apply to iPhone 18 devices:

  • IDS support for Xcode 27 is not fully stable. Device connection might fail on the first attempt, and device reboot might fail or take longer than usual.

  • The on-screen keyboard closes after every typetext command and reopens after typing finishes. Quick interactive typing might therefore be unresponsive or inaccurate.

  • The Home button does not work on iOS versions earlier than iOS 27.

  • Additional issues might surface because these dependencies have not been fully tested.

Platform support | Virtual devices

This release introduces the following enhancements and updates to virtual device support.

New iOS versions

You can now test your applications on virtual devices running the following iOS versions:

  • iOS 27.0 GA

Applications compiled exclusively for Intel (x86_64) cannot run. An ARM64 build is required.

  • iOS 27.1 RC

Applications compiled exclusively for Intel (x86_64) cannot run. An ARM64 build is required.

iPhone Duo is only supported on iOS 27.1 RC.

For complete support information, see Simulators (iPhones and iPads).
